Reunion 2004 Hello Everybody, Well our Black Mountain - Kenvir Reunion 2004 has come and gone. It sure was so good to see Black Mountain come alive again. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. I was told over and over again from everyone that they appreciated everybody's effort in making the reunion such a huge success. I was told that words cannot describe how they were feeling, but they were so very appreciative. It was a lot of hard work, but like I told them, and I think I can speak for everyone involved with the Reunion, WE HAD A GREAT TIME GETTING EVERYTHING TOGETHER. It did my heart good to see family and friends get together like that. Life is too short; I wish we were able to get together more often that only one time a year. Right now we have almost 400 names that were on the guest book, but we know there were many more than that. Bill and Joanna are looking at the video that they had set up at the gates to get everyone coming in (it only recorded for two hours) and are seeing a lot that didn't get a chance to sign in. They are also looking through some of the pictures and will get back with me with more names. I will print out what I have already typed up for them to go over. I hope to have a list of names to be posted real soon. I will E-Mail them to Glenn and to post on the Kenvir Web Page. I had a wonderful time getting to meet and greet everyone. And the singing was out of this world great. I would like to thank the Kentucky Rain Bluegrass Band for the wonderful playing and singing and for allowing us to use their equipment. Gert, Chris and others used their PA system and it all sounded great, echoing up and down the road and all around. I would also like to thank everyone that helped Bill and Joanna early Sunday morning in putting up the tents and carports, which was a great help. Billy Soloe and his family were great, they were even there after everyone was leaving to help in the clean up too. Even his kids got in and helped picking up cans, cups and papers. All was very much appreciated. Thanks to Ronnie Whitehead for so generously allowing us to use his electricity. Thanks to Marvin and Cynthia Wynn, they were great! Thanks to Gert for supplying prizes and for presenting Chris Jones with the most gorgeous quilt I have even laid eyes on. Thanks to Joe Grieshop for the new tables and benches and for the prisoners that came up and mowed and weed-eated the grounds for us. Thanks to everyone that had anything at all to do with helping to make our Black Mountain Kenvir Reunion a huge success! Your sacrifice did not go un-noticed. I am sorry that at this time I am unable to remember everyone's name, but I want you to know that you are appreciated. Oh yeah, Lewis Bianchi donated 3 $25 gifts to be presented to the oldest man, the oldest woman and for the one that traveled the longest distance to get to the reunion. He also sent up a couple of tents for us to use. Thanks to you too Mr. Bianchi. Joanna Childers has worked for many many months getting together games and prizes for the children; she wanted them to have a memorable trip to Black Mountain too. Bill and Joanna were at the park getting everything together and set up at 6 a.m., as well as Chris Jones and others to help out. Bill and Joanna have already started buying and getting things together for next years reunion. Your hard work and sacrifice did not go un-noticed. Well friends I better go for now and will try to get on tomorrow and post some more. Take care and God bless, Love, your Kenvir Friend, Deb |

Good Morning, I have been working on the name list
for the 2004 Kenvir Reunion for some time now, quiet a few folks missed
signing in on the guest book and myself and others have been going over
the list as well as looking at pictures that were taken there to come
up with more names. Please look over the list and if you notice
any
names that are missing let me know and I will gladly add them. We
came
up with 416 names but feel that there more friends attended than
that.
We are coming up with more ideas for next year's
reunion to hopefully make it even bigger and better that this
year's was.
Thanks,
Take care and God bless, Debra (Whitehead) Petra
