My name is Vivian (Smith) Laney. I was born in Kenvir or Black Mountain as some people called it in 1942.
My parents were Rama (Bud) Smith and Alma Smith. Daddy, everyone called him Bud, was boss of Tipple no.30. I have an older sister and brother, their names are Paul and Laura Ruth. I had a younger brother named Buddy Roger. Daddy,Mother and Buddy have all passed away now but they will always live in our hearts.
Paul worked at the movie theater there and Laura was a cheerleader at Black Mountain School. We moved from there in the early or mid 50's but we all still have very fond memories of all the people there.
